Body Language
Body Language is where you get the opposition a little bit scared because of the way you walk on the pitch to syke out your opposition. For example, when a football may walk up to the penalty kick with a look of arrogance in his eyes and will walk up to the penalty with a lot of confidence showing the keeper that they know that the ball will go in the back of the net.
Breathing Techniques
Breathing Techniques is where you relax and take a deep breath to calm yourself down if you feel that you are going to explode with anger. A football will do this a lot of the time because they may have a penalty chance taken away from them or a bad tackle that didn't give them a free kick so they will have to keep calm so that there whole game isn't ruined.
Self-Talk
Self-Talk is where you are always telling yourself that you are the best at what you do and that it would be impossible for you not to complete your task. An example of this would be any athlete because if someone in a football team misses a penalty then they will be shouting at themselves afterwards and will no not to make the same mistake. Also when they come onto the pitch or running track then they will be telling themselves that they are the best and that they are going to win.
Thought Stopping
Thought Stopping is where you block out thoughts that are no use to something that you are about to do. You will do this so that you maintain a good mind and are focused on what you are about to do. An example of this would be Michael Jordan. I chose him because when he plays basketball he wants to do the best that he can so he blocks out every negative thought.
Thinking Techniques
Thinking Techniques is where you constantly tell yourself that you are the best at something and you should be able to do that thing easily without any hesitation. An example of this would be Tiger Woods because he would be always telling himself that he is the best and that he should be able to make the put, which he does when he is about to put the ball.
Focusing
Focusing is where you block out everyone else and concentrate on exactly what they want so that they can complete that task more effectively. An example of this would be Capello. Capello is very good at focusing on what he wants because when we were in the world cup that is all he thought about and he made sure that the players were on the same page as him. Focusing on something would be relate to control of aggression.
Mental Rehearsal (Imagery)
Mental Rehearsal is where you think how you are going to do something in your mind first. So that you picture how you are going to score and then you will score when you come to the real thing. An example of this would be Tiger Woods. He spends a lot of the time thinking about how it is going to be done and then he puts the ball and ends up getting a birdie.
Pre-Performance Routine
Pre-Performance routine is where a player has a special movemtent of some kind to get them hyped up and ready to play the best game that they can. An example of this would be Bojan. I choose him because when he comes on the pitch to play he always does the cross on his chest and then kiss the ground which is his way of being ready for the match.

Problem Solving
Problem solving is a mental process where you find a problem and find a way to solve it in the easiest possible way. An example would be Richard Mantell. I choose him because he is a very talented hockey player and he is always keeping one step ahead of the opposition so that he can perform to his best. When the opposition has the ball he will track back and decide what he is going to do to get the ball. Also he always knows what skill he is going to do before he faces the opposition so that he is focused on what he is going to do.
Decision Making
Decision making is a mental way of deciding what you are going to do beforehand. This ends up in a final choice which is the path that you choose to take to handle the situation. An example of this would be Wayne Rooney because he made a very good decision in the 2012 world cup qualifiers by choosing to play the pass to Defoe instead of taking a shot which resulted in a goal.
Concentration
Concentration is where you focus on one thing to the exclusion of others around you. An example of this would be Cristiano Ronaldo because when he is taking a free kick he has to focus on it because it could be the last chance to score and blocks everyone around him out while he prepares and takes his free kicks.
Competitiveness
Competitiveness is where you put everything into a single game of sport in order to get the best possible result and hate losing when you have worked so hard in that game. An example of this would be Lionel Messi. This is because he is always 100% focused in a game and doesn't let anything bother him. He loves to play the sport and has a huge desire to win all the time.
Control Of Agression
Control of aggression is where you are able to keep your anger to yourself and not let it take over your body. An example of this would be Michael Jordan because everyone tries to get him angry in games because they know that he is the best player, but he manages to keep a calm over everything during a game because he blocks people out. There are two different types of aggression. There is Hostile and Instrumental. Hostile is where you make it your primary goal to hurt someone if you have been tackled badly by that person and Instrumental is where you plan to take someone out of the game without being angry at another player.
Motivation
Motivation is something that makes you want something else even more. You would use it in a football game. You would tell yourself that it was going to be the last game that you were going to play, that therefore would make you play better because you like to play the best game before you leave the sport. For example - if you are playing in the final of a tournament and you have recently just lost your father, and he was really into the sport, then you might be motivated to win the tournament for him and yourself. An example would be Arsene Wenger because he has been motivated this year into wining some silver wear in the Premier League.
Confidence
Confidence is where you are certain about something that you have researched or said. An example of this is Lionel Messi because he has a huge amount of confidence in dribbling with the ball and getting past players on the other team.
Self Control
Self Control is where you are able to control your emotions and desires. In psychology it is sometimes called self-regulation. An example of this would be Josep Guardiola. He keeps in control all the time and doesn't get affected by the crowd. He wants to win everything and get really upset when he loses an important match in a big cup like the Champions League. But he doesn't show it which makes him a really good manager because no one can read him as a manager.
